More About Badger
Badger Mountain Elementary School opened its doors to a growing south Richland community in the fall of 1978. Each classroom is self-contained, with some transferring of students for math and/or reading within an individual grade level. Badger Mountain is an integral part of the neighborhood with many activities being planned for each school year. The staff and parents are dedicated to providing the students with a strong basic education. “Badger Mountain: A Place to Learn and Build Dreams” is our motto. Among other things, we have developed a positive discipline plan and a technology plan to help fulfill this motto.
Badger Mountain Elementary students have the opportunity to take art, music, physical education, library, and technology as part of their basic education. We have numerous activities for students to increase their awareness in many different areas of exploration. Some of these opportunities include Destination Imagination (formerly Odyssey of the Mind), Homework Club, Science Week, Fifth Grade Specialties, and others. These activities are open to different grade levels depending upon the activity.
Badger Mountain has a very active Parent Teacher Organization. The PTO is involved in many activities connected with the school, including being a resource for the staff and providing leadership for fund raising activities. Their major emphasis is to help provide Badger Mountain students with the best possible well-rounded education. The PTO has sponsored field trips, science fairs, language arts fairs, purchased playground equipment, special speakers, drums for our steel drum band and theater groups. We are so proud of our facility, and the students at Badger Mountain are extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful facility for their use!
In summary, Badger Mountain Elementary School is a student oriented school with staff and parents providing the best opportunity for our students to succeed now and in the future.
